happy easter to one and all.
i'm writing this blog from my bed wondering if the throbbing pain in my foot will decrease enough to go to a kick-boxing class tomorrow morning. this afternoon, after a rather packed easter service, i was walking along at my usual speedy pace and managed to completely twist my foot going down a hill. so much fun! my big plan of the day had been to go to the gap and try on spring dresses, grab some starbucks and study for a few hours. unfortunately (or perhaps fortunately for my wallet) the gap was closed, starbucks was packed and i now couldn't concentrate due to the pulsating ankle. so it's eight hours later and i still haven't attempted to open my books and walking has become a dreaded activity.
in other news, for those of you who read this and i haven't talked to in a while, life is good! i think i probably only blog when i'm homesick, which i definately am right now. i'm missing easter candy and singing 'up from the grave' at south abby, eating paska with grandma and all the fun that surrounds this weekend. school started again on tuesday after a two week hiatus and classes will definately be interesting. i haven't gone to school this late into the year since high school and i'm predicting that my concentration levels are not going to be very high, what with all that sunshine and summer-ness outside my room.
break was good. i spent three days in palm springs with mom and dad who spoiled me with cheese and clothing. i'm excited to have them come and visit in may. something to look forward to for the next month. a good friend, christina, just left on friday and we had an adventurous time exploring in santa cruz and berkeley. work has been...great! i spent all day thursday in the field and came home with a huge bag filled with fresh organic strawberries - definately a nice perk of the job. i think the next ten weeks are going to be just crazy enough and then i'm back in abbotsford after the 15th of june! who knew time could fly by so fast? anyways, at this point, i'm probably writing this blog for no one except myself in an attempt to avoid reading and discussing anthropology (how do I do that?!?! ack).
